About Us

My Name is Wendy Ahlman and I run Chrysalis Preschool and Kindergarten. Chrysalis has an accelerated curriculum. This typically gives students at least a one year head start before entering public schools. In fact, most students learn to read within the first six months of learning at Chrysalis. Keeping children’s minds constantly occupied through fun drills and engaging repetition is key to the Chrysalis learning process. To ensure that each child receives individual attention each class is limited to a six student maximum.

I create a detailed curriculum for each of my wonderful students. I write my own worksheets and draw all the pictures on each. I’ve also written four dozen phonics readers that my students read to help foster their abilities to blend and read. I’ve written several other children’s books as well, mostly about sciences and the world around us. My goal each day is to make sure each child feels good about themselves, learns and feels challenged. I love being a teacher, I am the luckiest person in the world!

Wendy and her wonderful family

In 2004 a young mother named Wendy Ahlman started Chrysalis Preschool. With a newborn in her arms, and her three year old learning at her feet she began teaching her students and developing a new learning system. The positive results were immediate.

However, her initial success only planted the seed for a greater mission. It wasn’t just a job anymore. Wendy decided that if she kept her prices were slightly higher than the competition, she could keep her classes small, treasuring her face time with each child.

Parents soon realized the difference that Wendy and Chrysalis Pre-School was making in the lives of their children. Wendy began attracting students with parents had money to spare, as well as those who struggled to give their children the best education they could find. There was a new sparkle in their children’s eyes–the budding of knowledge, achievement, and self-respect.

But Wendy wasn’t satisfied, she went back to school to receive her degree in Elementary Education (graduating Cum Laude) while running her Provo preschool, going through pregnancy and giving birth to her youngest. Now over 10 years later, Wendy has helped Chrysalis Pre School become a standard feature in Provo, helping your children develop a love of learning.
